Sawyer Family Farmstead Wedding – Part 1

Oh my goodness. I am so excited to be posting these this afternoon. I tried and tried to whittle the images down into one blog post, but there were too many moments that needed to be shared. Words can’t describe how much I loved Sawyer Family Farmstead which is located in Cashiers, North Carolina. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and at every turn of the property is another gorgeous site to behold. I about squealed when I saw it’s a Christmas Tree farm!!! There really are no words, so I’ll let the images below speak of how gorgeous the space is, which made for an epic wedding site. I loved that Mike & Liz (who live in the Cleveland, Ohio area), chose Sawyer Family Farmstead as their destination wedding location. The day was emotional and happy; their closest friends family and friends came from across the country to witness and celebrate their union and love. So many elements of the wedding were personal, elegant, and rustic. The day was about becoming a new family together and having an awesome laid back celebration that represented them as a couple from start to finish. Even though they had never been photographed by me before, their love is just effortless, and it was such a joy to photograph. With their beautiful love, the gorgeous scenery, and personalized elements, I felt full of inspiration. A huge thank you to Bethany for traveling to the mountains with me and helping capture their special day! Liz & Mike, heart you two so much! Without overwhelming you with just one post, I decided to split them into two parts. So with that, here is part 1 of such a beautiful and emotional day. The rest of the portraits are in Part 2, so stay tuned!

I love that Liz chose to walk up through the Christmas trees to the ceremony site ….

Isn’t their cake topper the cutest?

Stay tuned for Part 2……

Keswick Vineyard Wedding – Will & Kelly

Oh my heart. These two are simply the sweetest. From our very first emails, I was smitten with their love and kind personalities. Throughout the months they’ve continued to send me sweet notes in the mail “just because” and I love the friendship that we now share. I’ve mentioned before, but I LOVED getting to head back to Charlottesville, Virginia to photograph Kelly & Will’s engagements and wedding at Keswick Vineyards. Each time I’ve traveled there I swoon left and right at how beautiful the area and property is. We even ventured into the back fields for more portrait locations and I’m telling you, the vineyard couldn’t be any more gorgeous if it tried. Plus the staff at Keswick Vineyards is top notch! Both weddings I’ve photographed there have been relaxed and the couple didn’t have to worry about a thing! With how much goes on behind the scenes at a wedding, they do such a great job making it run with ease for everyone involved. I felt myself getting teary-eyed on many occasions throughout the day, especially the personalized vows. Their guests came from not only across the country, but around the world, and it was the perfect personal and emotional day. There are so many things I could write about, like how they made me feel like part of the family the entire day and wouldn’t let me photograph until I tried an apple cider donut (YES, they had a donut truck on SITE at the reception!) So thank you Will & Kelly for the honor of photographing your sweet & perfect love. A special thank you to Bethany for traveling with me to Virginia to help capture the day! There are SO many images I could have shared (and these images were harder to pick out than I care to admit), but here is a little snippet of the beginning of Kelly & Will’s life together as husband and wife. So much love. xox.

I love how personal the wedding was, Will’s Uncles officiated the wedding ceremony

The joining of both families together – I just love this image so much.

Kelly is South African and brought in these gorgeous South African flowers into the arrangements. I love the texture it has!
