Shelby & John were originally not going to do an engagement session. He was supposed to be out of the country right up until their wedding but as luck would have it, he didn’t end up leaving so just 10 days before their wedding, we met up and photographed their last days as an engaged couple. There are so many things and emotions I could write about, but when I try to appropriately describe these two and the love that they share, literally no words come to mind. I guess that’s the best kind of love though right? The kind that leaves people speechless. It reminds me of a line from a recent favorite book I read, The Fault In Our Stars – the sentence jumped out at me and it describes I’m feeling about these two … “My thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations.” Their wedding day was one of the most relaxing I’ve ever been part of, even with a rain shower during their ceremony. I’m so excited to share those as well, but for now, take a peek at just a few of my favorites from their engagement session I’m so glad we got to photograph. Enjoy xo

Oh my heart. I knew these two were going to be such a treat to photograph. When I first arrived to the session we were met with a down-pouring of rain all around Charlotte. We hopped in the car (crossing our fingers) and made our way up north of the city where the light and atmosphere was simply gorgeous and airy (no rain in site!) We were thrilled when Gable Acres allowed us to shoot around their farm with beautiful Sunshine (who enjoyed her yummy treats of carrots and apples!) The afternoon sunset at the Beaver Dam was so warm and inviting, which was a treat to photograph in. We chatted and laughed about all things life & wedding planning. Plus, these two are simply adorable together (don’t they just light up around each other in the images?) So excited for their wedding this November – until then, enjoy a glimpse into their sweet engagement session!
