Sarah & Matt – Blacksburg Virginia Engagement

Ohhhhhhhh these two. I knew from our first interactions through email that we were going to be the perfect fit. The emotional connection these two share is like magic, you’ll see. We met up in Blacksburg since they both attended Virginia Tech and the area holds a special place in their hearts. Since I had never been, it was lovely to see how much the campus is surrounded by nature and scenic locations. We even stumbled upon a few that they had never seen during their four years in college! Sarah & Matt light up while talking about their wedding day and marriage together, and I cannot WAIT for their wedding at Big Spring Farm this Fall season! There is so much I could TRY to put into words about how much they love and respect about each other, but I’ll let the images do the explaining. I had such a difficult time narrowing my favorites for this post, so enjoy a small glimpse into the beauty of two people ridiculously in love! xo

Anna & Brett – Winston Salem Engagement

Had such a fun time with Anna & Brett as we photographed around Winston Salem! It was my first time in the area and it did not disappoint. It was a hot and humid southern summer day, but you wouldn’t know it from how sweet and snuggly (why yes, that’s a word lol) these two were in front of the camera! Everyone knows how much I love animals, so it’s such a treat when couples want to involve their pets in the session! Aren’t they the cutest? These two are getting married at a vineyard … in an old barn…. and I can’t wait! The Fall will be here before we know it! Enjoy some of my favorites from our session!

The Cabin Ridge Engagement – Kylie & Thomas

Our first emails consisted of talking about how important it was for Kylie to find a photographer who believes in the meaningfulness of marriage. Having come from a background working with couples preparing and strengthening their relationships, I knew we would be a perfect fit for one another. Getting to know my couples on a personal (and emotional) basis before the wedding day is really really important to me. All of my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session for a few different reasons. Not only is it awesome having images to remember such a special time in your lives, … but it’s a way for us to connect and capture the natural and intimate moments of couples just being them.  It’s also a chance for me to get a glimpse into how each couple expresses their love … which honestly is unique to every single person and such a treat to photograph. It helps in capturing the wedding day story that much more, I’m not just a “stranger” with a camera, but a friend. Instead of trying to put all my thoughts about love into words (which, I’ve found I have SO many feelings it’s hard to put them into cohesive sentences lol), I express these feelings into my photographs. Which to me is the perfect kind of explanation. The way each couple holds hands, snuggles, interacts…. it’s all their own. Kylie & Thomas share a quiet and soulful connection, which was beautiful to photograph. We met up in Hendersonville, NC and ended the session at The Cabin Ridge, which sits atop a mountain with breathtaking views. I could never ever get tired of photographing in the mountains. Enjoy a look into some of my favorites from our time together xo
