Kosmac Wedding ~ Fairlawn, Ohio

Where do I begin. Becca and I go way back to college days (has it really been 6 years?) Not only were we psychology majors together, but our friendship really blossomed while on the same retreat leadership team together. The same team where I met my now husband, but also some of the very best friends that I have stayed in touch with throughout the years. I spent a good amount of time looking back at facebook college albums the other day and had a great laugh realizing how much of my college memories and photographs were filled with Becca & Kevin – all at the same events with the same people! When I received the sweet inquiry from them about their upcoming wedding, I felt so incredibly honored and excited! There was such a beautiful familiarity of home throughout the entire wedding day. I think any wedding involving that many University of Dayton alumni and friends will feel like that. The day was filled with an incredible energy, there is no question how excited everyone was for their big day. Thinking back to the wedding makes my heart swell and it was definitely a wedding for the books. If any of you have ever visited UD, you’ll also know that as a community, we know how to have a good time. This wedding didn’t disappoint in the least! I’m not kidding, as soon as the formal dances were finished – someone clapped and the ENTIRE room exploded into dancing. There was literally not a single person sitting down. As photographers, we have photographed and attended MANY a wedding but I have never experienced anything like that before! The energy in the room was contagious until the wee hours of the night and there was so much LOVE for Becca & Kevin as everyone celebrated their union! Not only did I get to see SO many friends from college, but I also had the privilege of having another UD alum photographer beside me! I had such a blast having you second shoot with me Lauren and am blessed to call you a friend (now hurry up and move to Charlotte!) It’s taken me a very long time to figure how to articulate how special their wedding was – but all I can say is that it felt like home (and to me), that’s the best kind of happy one should feel. Love you so incredibly much you two! Enjoy a look into such a special day – it was ridiculously hard to narrow these down! xox

One of their favorite things to do is ride bikes on the bike paths near their home!

If you attended UD, you’ll know what these next images are of (hint hint, thunder!)

Loved seeing so many friends!

During the last song, everyone surrounded the couple in the biggest group hug that ever existed! So much love in the room!

Ashley Goodwin - Girl! The first shot or the earrings looks like a storybook!!! And the one of him hugging her from behind her her laughing (where focus is more on the flowers) is awesome. You are Fab. Whole lotta love anf goodness going on here!

Keswick Vineyards Engagement ~ Kelly & Will

When Kelly first inquired about photographing their wedding, it was almost like we were passing love notes back and forth to one another! She is simply one of the most sweet and happy people I’ve ever met! When we finally got to get together for their engagement session at Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia, I felt like I had known them for years! There were lots of immediate hugs and as we walked around photographing how much they adore each other, it felt as if I were catching up with old friends. As some of you may remember, I had the pleasure of photographing Lisa & Chad’s beautiful wedding last fall at Keswick. It’s the perfect gorgeous backdrop for a wedding and I was excited to be able to photograph engagement portraits around the property as well. Little did we know we also chose to photograph on the longest day (light wise) of the entire year! This just meant spending lots of hours getting to know these two and their loving relationship. Thank you Kelly for being simply so sweet and generous. Every time a note arrives in my mailbox it makes my heart swell with just how happy and kind you are!! I cannot wait for their upcoming fall wedding at the vineyard – it is sure to be filled with an abundance of DIY crafty details and an outpouring of LOVE! (squeal!) So much love for these two! xox Enjoy!

The vineyard has sweet puppy’s all over the property!

August Update – Personal

You might have noticed things around here have been both busy and quiet! Lots of wedding posts have been going up (YaY), but the personal posts have taken a step back. What have I been up to? Well, Besides having ONE weekend off (where I attended a wedding as a guest!), I’ve shot 9 straight weddings since May (with lots of traveling! Two trips to Ohio, Northern NC,  Charleston, and one to Virginia!!) It’s been a beautiful whirlwind and I’ve loved every second of it. Since I only take one wedding per weekend, it’s great having Sunday’s to spend time with Eric, rest up, and organize the home. It leaves me feeling energized and ready for the rest of the week! My heart literally wants to burst with how humbled and honored I’ve felt to take part in each of the weddings. Everyone has been so incredibly sweet and welcoming – it’s been so amazing to be part of telling each couple’s wedding day love story. I’ve been posting weddings throughout the last couple of weeks (and posting lots of sneaks on the facebook page!), but I can’t wait to show you the rest of the line up! Annnnd because a blog post wouldn’t be complete without some images, below is a quick look into the past few weeks of what I’ve been up to and what will be gracing the blog soon! I’m also excited to be more active in my blogging – both business and personal! Happy August! xox
