Deidra & Daniel ~ Date Night

He looked back, holding his hand out towards her

She giggles, gently placing her hand within his

A familiar place.

comfort, security, love.

As they walk, she leans in and steals a kiss

Pure bliss.

To a man she has called husband for nearly 3 years.

This session was one of love. Familiar love. As soon as Deidra and I discussed capturing she and her husband, I became excited to be able to take part in such a unique session. You see, most of the couples that want to be photographed are recently engaged or getting married. As this is an extremely important part of life, of course couples want to capture the beginning stages of their lives together. What about couples who have been together for years? Couples who have weathered the rollercoaster of ups and downs that life so often brings upon us. I think that marriage is one of the most beautiful gifts two people could ever share. A person to call friend, partner, soul mate. It’s important to celebrate the gift of marriage on a daily basis. Be it dancing in the kitchen together after a long day of work, laughing to jokes that only the two of you would ever understand, or getting the chance to take a quiet walk and just be. Daniel & Deidra decided to capture their familiar love through images that they will be able to share for generations to come. That is why I will now be offering “Date Night Sessions” for married couples. An opportunity to get dressed up, spend some time with me – capturing the unique love that you share together, and then head out to a quiet dinner with just the two of you. A chance to rekindle the spark that may have gotten buried beneath the piles of bills or heavy workload. A chance to not only capture that love, but relive it every time you flip through the images. You don’t need a special occasion to capture memories, let’s celebrate your marriage. I’d love to be part of that celebration.

Deidra & Daniel, I had so much fun getting to know you both as a couple. Your marriage is fun loving, joyous, and God inspired. I hope when you look back on these images years from now, you’ll remember time as it was during this season of your lives. Thank you for the chance to get to know you both and your beautiful and oh-so-happy (and FUN) marriage. Keep that spark alive and healthy – <they were sharing kisses even when the camera wasn’t ready!> Enjoy.

Baby Becca ~ Family

Oh how I’ve loved being able to watch Becca grow throughout the year! Her first birthday is quickly approaching! Not only is this little lady stunning (just look at those eyes!) but she’s super-duper smart! What a beautiful spring afternoon it was while we took these images! Their backyard made a perfect location, that fence is gorgeous! Amy & Adam, you are a beauuutiful and loving family <3 I could speak volumes about them, but I’ll let the images speak for themselves (and surprise! another video!)

Amy & Justin ~ Engagement

What do I love more than a perfectly well lit/cloudy day for photography? Why a couple that is in love as much as these two are! Even though Amy admitted she was a bit nervous before the session, you would have never guessed it! Right from the start these two were naturals in front of the camera – I think even they were surprised! I always love when couples are flexible with time schedules, as it allows to work with the bestttttt environment and light to work in! We met pretty early in one of my most favorite spots in Ghent — I got to use some hidden *gem* areas that worked great for the urbanesque feel of the session. It was such a pleasure getting to know Amy & Justin – I just loved the natural conversation and laughter that flowed throughout the session! Thank you both for being so cool with trying out the different locations and ideas! They also got creative in bringing scrabble and painted items to use throughout the session – gosh I’m loving all these crafty and creative brides! Amy & Justin, I’m reallllly excited for your October wedding (just wait till you see the location!) Even though it may seem a bit far off, it’ll get here before we all know it! Until then, enjoy your fabulous engagement pictures! I had SUCH a hard time choosing which ones to post (SERIOUSLY!) Aren’t they SO in love?

Tiffany @ texan on the run - omg i LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE your photography skills, you are so talented!
although i am not a photographer, most of the engagement/professional pictures i see i’m kind of like, meh, that’s nice, but i wouldn’t want my own professional pictures done by them.
however, you are one of the first photographers whose work i’ve come across where i am wow-ing the entire time because of how well you capture the emotions, most of the pictures just seem really natural and not too cheesy, as a lot of professional photographs seem to me.

though i will still be in school for a longg time (4 years of medical school, plus 3-5 years of residency…possibly more depending on the specialty i go into), i hope i can get my engagement/wedding/family pictures (the family that I create :D) done by you!!!
