Webber Wedding ~ Part 1

Oh goodness, so much to say about this wedding. I’ve been really lucky to have such amazing couples. The funny thing is, my weddings the past three months have been a chain reaction of friends! It’s been REALLY neat being able to see my couples at each other’s weddings (not to mention the same guests!) Amy & Justin have made me feel so very included throughout their wedding planning, instant friends! They even had a giftcard waiting for me at the front counter of the hotel the night before their wedding! How ADORABLE is that? They are so very friendly and welcoming, and that extends towards the love they feel not only about each other, but towards ALL their family and friends. Their wedding was at the BEAUTIFUL Ash-Lawn Highland which is the ORIGINAL home of past President James Monroe! These two know how to make this photographer happy. Historical venue, outdoor wedding in the mountains, the start of fall, yard games, and YUMMY BBQ dinner! I think I could write a whole post about how cool this venue is – it’s so beautiful! Speaking of “the start of fall”, their wedding just-so-happened to take place on a randomly cold day in the mountains! So be prepared in Part 2 for lots of bridesmaids huddling together to keep warm! Although we’ll get to the ceremony in Part 2, the entire day was simply beautiful. God was very present throughout and the love for one another (and their guests) was crystal clear evident. Congrats Amy & Justin, and enjoy your images of your extremely beautiful day. Be on the lookout for Part 2, it’s going to be another good one! Thank you thank you to the always WONDERFUL Valerie Demo for being such a great travel buddy and superb second shooter!

*Sneak Peek* Dillon + Vanessa ~ Engagement

I don’t think I’ve ever had this difficult of a time figuring out which images to sneak peek! Vanessa and I had so much fun brainstorming ideas for their Virginia Beach engagement session weeks before it occured! Since these two love the beach, they decided to make the treck to the area from their D.C. homefront. It was really nice getting to know them on a more personal level – they have such a beautiful relationship – and I love that their root is companionship and laughter. After many years of living in different states throughout their dating, these two are FINALLY in the same city! As you’ll see in the big post (so make sure you stay tuned for that!) Vanessa LOVES to laugh, and it’s really infectious! The camera LOVES real laughter and it shines through in their love for one another. Thank you Vanessa & Dillon for allowing me to capture your fun loving and happy relationship. Congrats on your engagement & happy wedding planning! Stay tuned for more — and enjoy the peek into the fun we had!

Apple Orchard ~ Personal

Yes, you read that right. A personal post is here! Sorry about the absence of these postings lately – between moving & traveling for weddings, I’ve built up quite a “to-do” list of postings! The good thing is, that means more blog posts – both awesome sessions and personal posts are coming your way soon. I’ve gotten a few messages regarding my “Guilty Pleasure Thursdays” — and I feel quite guilty that got put on the back burner, so I’m here to declare, those weekly fun postings will also be returning! Has the weather turned from fall to winter where you live too? It feels like just yesterday we hopped in the car and made our way to this amazing apple orchard! Everyone – meet Lauren!  She’s a wonderful friend & fellow photographer –  I have been SO blessed to meet/make such a great friend/couple so quickly after moving to the area. We TOTALLY think it was meant to be. Me & Eric (the hubster), she and her husband (Lauren & Ted), and Ted’s sister (Rachel/Adam & Baby Kiyah) ALL took an adventure one afternoon and drove to the beautiful mountains as a kick off to all things fall. I had never been apple picking before, and boy was this not my last time either! Lauren & Ted brought all sorts of fun cameras — digital & film! (as you’ll see in the below pics!) I think I ended up taking pictures more than I did picking – but I made it up to Eric later by making all sorts of fun fall foods from scratch! (homemade apple sauce & dutch apple pie! mmmm) The trip was SUCH a good time with the most awesome of people. Towards the end of our adventure – Lauren got stung by the most NASTY wasp EVER. She and I are both allergic – so it was really scary! No worries, she was/is ok! Phew! Oh and be sure to take a look at the video below. This everyone, is one of the (many) reasons she and I are friends. teehee. Enjoy!
