Kelley & Greg ~ Charlotte Engagement

Spring has definitely come and this is the season for love & engagement sessions! I’ve really been enjoying getting to know my 2013 wedding couples and photographing their love! As you can see below, Kelley & Greg are simply adorable together. They are the perfect match for one another and the session was filled with constant laughter and snuggles galore. Part of what I strive to do is capture how couples naturally interact with one another – and even the way Kelley & Greg look at each other speaks volumes. As you can see from the image below, they even walk in perfect step! We traveled all around Charlotte – stopping at all the places that have special meaning to them along the way. Thank you both for all the laughter and I can’t wait for your upcoming wedding! Enjoy the look into our engagement session, it sure was hard to narrow these down!

Date Night Thursday

Last week we had THREE sets of visitors come into town and stay in our new home! It was the best kind of whirlwind and it sadly went WAY too quickly. I really enjoyed catching up with our friends & family. I was so excited when it just so happened to be perfect weather here for all their visits! Holly and I spent a good amount of time outside throughout the week and I soaked up the sunshine and spring time air. Some of the days felt more like SUMMER but I’m holding on to the soft breeze that spring time gives around the Carolina’s. I never knew what heat was until I spent a summer in the south. I think humidity closings should be a “thing” around here – don’t you agree? Speaking of this beauuuuuutiful weather, for this Date Night Thursday, I challenge you all to find some time to get outside and enjoy the outdoors with your hunny! I’ve loved watching all the trees & flowers start to bloom – plus it makes everything look so pretty! Having a dog has been perfect for getting outside because we really enjoy taking him on hikes and walks. We recently started exploring our neighborhood and discovered an amazing park down the street from our house. The park even has trails that go for miles and you can choose different paths each time you walk! Not only are we getting exercise together, but we also catch up, chat, and laugh together. We escape reality for a little while and enjoy the sites, sounds, and smells of nature (and laugh as Henry tries to chase anything that moves!) Even if you don’t have a pet, go on a walk together! Also, something I always look forward to around this time of year is planning a picnic! I love gathering snacks & sandwiches in my beloved wooden picnic basket and enjoy eating on the ground in nature. There is something about a picnic that makes my heart SO happy. Plus it’s fun to plan a different menu each time! When we used to live by the beach Eric and I would have picnics on the sand and play scrabble together. It brings a smile to my face as I remember listening to the soft sound of waves and wishing that moment would last forever.  Just as our picnic at the ocean brings back all the sounds and emotions of the day, you to can create memories with your loved one. So go put on some sunblock and escape outside for a little while – hold hands with the one you love and enjoy the beauty that is all around us (even in our own backyards). Try and take a moment to close your eyes and soak it all in together. Until next week friends! xox

Mary Paige & Neal ~ Charlotte Engagement

YaY the server is back up and running! I will have a brand new Date Night Thursday post tomorrow, but I couldn’t wait to post these images so I’m showcasing this lovely Charlotte engagement session this morning! We traveled to different locations around Plaza Midwood & South Park, it was the perfect mix of urban and nature – ending up in Freedom Park with their cute lil one Zoe! I love when couples incorporate their pets into the session. It would have been hilarious to watch us photographing – at one point I tried waving pine-cones above my head to get her to look at the camera! Pet photographers, I give you mad credit! Thank you both for being so easy going and friendly! I enjoyed getting to know you both as a couple and can’t wait for your wedding!!! Mary Paige and I are shooting her bridals in a few weeks – it’s going to be so difficult to not share with the world right away (but you’ll have to wait until after the wedding!) Enjoy a look at our engagement session that took place all around Charlotte!
