Chad & Lisa ~ Keswick Vineyard Wedding

Oh hello there everyone! Its been way too long since I’ve given my blog any love. This is the perfect wedding blog post to kick off such an exciting 2013 year. I hope you’ve all been keeping your resolutions and enjoying the beginning of the new year! Isn’t it crazy that January is nearly over? Didn’t it just start? Along with traveling for the holidays, I photographed two weddings in December, we closed on a house/moved into the new house in the last couple of weeks (well, days), Oh and did I mention in the midst of moving I also traveled to Denver Colorado last week? I’m currently stuck in bed with a gel cast strapped to my foot – heading to a specialist in the morning. On the flip side, I’ve been stuck in bed being MAJORLY products ive (whoohoo), but I’d appreciate the well wishes/prayers for my appointment tomorrow! I am oh-so-excited to be able to share Chad & Lisa’s wedding that took place at Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville Virginia. One of the things that really stands out was how relaxed and peaceful everyone was the entire day (but boy this group sure knows how to do a reception!) It was simply a lovely day and everyone was so so happy to witness such an inspired occasion. Much of the wedding was DIY details that Lisa and her friends/family spent months preparing. I was in awe of the crafty details and how beautifully it all came together (the bouquets were all paper!) Keswick reminded me what I love so much about the rolling hills and vineyards of Virginia (especially in the fall !) As always, it was such a pleasure to be shooting alongside Valerie again – thank you for giving up your weekend to second shoot with me friend! This post has been a long time coming as I literally could not narrow the post down. My initial favorites ended up being over 300 images. Some photographers like to show just their favorite images from the day, but it’s really important for me to be able to share a glimpse at the complete story of the weddings I am so honored to photograph. Here is a look into Chad & Lisa’s wedding day love story, enjoy friends.

Kathleen ~ Duke Mansion Bridals

YaY I can FINALLY share these!! (Seriously, not showing a sneak peek for a session you’re SO excited about is difficult stuff!) We had to reschedule earlier in the month due to the looming gray clouds that opened up to pouring rain. The day of our session was almost made for us and the “feel” we wanted for the images. Even though we were in the middle of December, we just so happened to get a beautiful 55-60 degree day filled with blue skies and a glorious glowing sun. Kathleen brings such a calm and is simply the sweetest (she is going to make a great dentist!) Since Kathleen is getting married at the Duke Mansion, we decided it would be the perfect backdrop for her bridal portrait session. Here are a few from the MANY beautiful images we captured a week before her wedding! Oh and a surprise sneak peak is at the bottom of the post! Enjoy! xoxo

Annnnd SNEAK PEEK from their beautiful wedding!

Kristen Schueler - Hey Alicia! I love the treatment of these photos – makes them look so classic :) Also, just an FYI, I couldn’t find a link from your website directly to your blog – although maybe it was staring me in the face and I missed it?!? Either way, this is my first time on your blog and the work is gorgeous :)

Maddie ~ Senior Portraits

I love doing senior sessions. Senior year is SUCH an exciting time in high school – it’s especially a time for dreaming up the possibilities of the future. I love getting to know the seniors during the session – what they are involved in (any sports or clubs), where they hope to be next year, and any wishes for what their futures might hold. We talk about our favorite TV shows, school dances, life at home, pets, … really, the conversations could be endless. I want the parents, family & friends, and of course the senior to look back and remember life for exactly how it was. I love forming a friendship with both the senior & family so that years from now, I can congratulate them as they achieve their dreams. I am in awe that Maddie and her Mother FLEW from PA the morning of the photo shoot and flew back that night. You would never be able to tell that Maddie got up at 3am that morning! Gosh I could say so much — Maddie is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. She has such a BRIGHT future ahead of her and has already been so dedicated/hardworking in both school and extra curricular activities. There is no doubt in my mind that she’ll move mountains. Have a beautiful rest of your senior year — it’s going to go FAST so enjoy every second of it. Oh and did I mention that she is simply GORGEOUS? This post would have been pages long with how many I initially wanted to show! It was such a pleasure to spend time with you that Wednesday afternoon Maddie!! Enjoy the look into our senior session in Fort Mill, South Carolina. xoxo!

Meagan Smith - These photos are gorgeous Alicia – you are so talented!!

Jeremy Grieff - Stunning series…love them all!
